| Negli
ultimi venti anni si è assistito, nel campo dello studio
dei codici medievali, ad un crescente interesse per il
censimento, il recupero e la catalogazione delle decine
di migliaia di frammenti provenienti da legature,
realizzate con fogli smembrati da manoscritti di vario
genere. Le ricerche hanno fornito importanti risultati,
che si sono concretizzati nella costituzione di archivi
elettronici dei rinvenimenti, nella pubblicazione di
cataloghi, nell’allestimento di mostre, nonché
nella riproduzione digitale dei frammenti reperiti, al
fine di inserirli in reti informatiche. L’incontro di studiosi provenienti da paesi e da esperienze diverse verterà in particolare sui seguenti temi: 1. Allargamento delle indagini a tutti i settori della scrittura e della cultura che siano stati interessati dal fenomeno dello smembramento e riciclaggio dei manoscritti. Sono previste relazioni su progetti di ampio respiro condotti nel campo dei codici ebraici, greci, latini, italiani e francesi, di soggetto liturgico, musicale, letterario (di ambito sacro e profano) e scientifico; dato che il lavoro maggiore è stato compiuto nel campo dei frammenti liturgico-musicali ed ebraici, questi due settori avranno uno spazio più consistente. 2. Rassegna delle ricerche condotte in contesti più ampi e in aree geografiche più vaste, per le quali già si possa fornire un resoconto sulle metodologie seguite, i risultati raggiunti, le prospettive di futuri sviluppi della ricerca. 3. Problematiche tecnico-scientifiche connesse alle metodologie di recupero, restauro e conservazione dei frammenti di codici membranacei e cartacei; lettura non distruttiva e restauro virtuale dei reperti e loro riproduzione digitale, possibilità di parziale ricomposizione dei manoscritti originali; verifica delle nuove potenzialità offerte dalle tecnologie informatiche. |
Over
the last 20 years in the field of the study of medieval
codices there has been a growing interest in the
restoration and cataloguing of the tens of thousands of
fragments found in book bindings which made use of leaves
taken from manuscripts of many different kinds. The
research carried out so far has produced significant
results such as the setting up of electronic archives of
findings, the publication of catalogues, the organization
of exhibitions and the digital reproduction of fragments
so that they can be made available on the Internet. This meeting of scholars from different countries and areas of study will concentrate on the following subjects: 1. The widening of research to all areas of writing and culture which were in some way affected by the process of dismemberment and recycling of manuscripts. Reports will be given on wide-ranging research projects in the field of Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Italian, French, liturgical music, literary (sacred and profane) and scientific codices. As most of this research has been carried out in the field of liturgical music and Hebrew fragments, greater space will be given to these areas. 2. A survey of research carried out in a wider context and geographical area for which it is already possible to report on the methods used, the results obtained and the prospects for future developments in research. 3. Technical and scientific problems connected with the recovery, restoration and conservation of fragments of paper and parchment codices; non destructive reading and virtual restoration of the material found, digital reproduction, the possibility of a partial reassembly of the original manuscripts; an appraisal of the potential of computer technology in this field. |
